wonderful access to parks and walking paths for city lovers
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with a large, bright bedroom and good breakfast options served with a smile, making it the perfect spot to explore nearby landmarks like the impressive train sculptures and the scenic Durham Town Hall, just under 7 km away. while my room was comfortable, the water took a while to heat up in the shower, but the friendly staff made my stay enjoyable.

The Devonport features a beautifully decorated interior with a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it incredibly accessible and enjoyable for seniors like myself. The country chic style and real fires added to our delightful experience.
More seating options for seniors in the dining area.

The family atmosphere made our stay truly enjoyable, with friendly staff providing an authentic experience. The fish and chips at the restaurant were exceptional, showcasing traditional British fare with generous portions. the lack of a lift is a drawback, requiring a trek up 20 steps to reach the rooms. while the overall service was commendable, the dining area could benefit from more seating during busy hours.

Great stay with fab food!
Had an awesome night here! The room was super comfy and clean. The cooked breakfast was delicious with loads of options! The only bummer was the wait for the bill. it took a bit longer than expected. But overall, a lovely spot to relax.

Comfortable Standard King Room with a modern vibe, perfect for a quick escape. The ambiance is fresh and inviting, allowing for a laid-back getaway experience.
The bath plug failed to hold water properly, turning a relaxing soak into a routine chore. Bedside lights were frustratingly dim for evening reading, forcing us to choose between brightness and comfort. it seems like there’s an opportunity to improve on room service options, as breakfast in bed isn’t currently available. Just a few more tweaks could elevate the experience significantly.
